The first artist, Picture Me Free, hails from Clemson,SC and is poised to make an immediate impact in the Southeast!
Pigpen Records will officially release Picture Me Free's debut, Wake Up Alive, at Terrapin's Brewery on Saturday August 23rd! Blue Flashing Light and Bain Mattox and Shot From Guns will be joining us for the festivities.
It will be a great outdoor event of live music and great beer!
"Picture Me Free rocks the crowd and brings entertainment to a new level" The Tiger- 2008 Picture Me Free was formed in August 2007 and is comprised of 5 all-star members of previous successful Clemson bands. It would be an understatement to say that fans are "feeling" Picture Me Free's vibe. In their first six months, Picture Me Free has played OVER 100 SHOWS!! Ranging from; every live-music venue in their city, to the renown Handlebar in Greenville, fraternity and sorority functions, and most recently opening for Colbie Caillat at Solid Orange Live in front of 25,000 fans! Picture Me Free is hitting sonic-paydirt with their "true-life lyrics, Allmanesque guitar melodies, and a rock-steady rhythm section GUARANTEED to make the listener get up and dance." Picture Me Free's music is appealing to all-ages and reaches across many genres such as; rock, pop, soul, reggae, r&b, and others. Picture Me Free's musical influences are immensely diverse, and we know you will hear it in their music.

Predicating itself on becoming not only a top studio in town, but pushing its reaches to regional and national recognition, Pigpen Studios has quickly become one of Athens' premier recording studios.
Within the walls of Pigpen Studios, lies a true musical complex. While the studios are the heart of Pigpen, it also houses 10 rehearsal rooms, office spaces for other entertainment associates, 2 lounges, private bath with shower, and an apartment room for out of town bands to stay while recording. The ultimate goal is to have bands come and get immersed in the record they are making and make it as great as it can be and to offer as many onsite resources as possible.
House engineer/producer Daniel Maldonado Collins has made a solid name for himself as being a very eclectic producer. Producing acts that range the spectrum of almost any musical genre. The vision of his work is clear....no matter the style; he prides himself on working with great artists.
While at Pigpen, bands can fully utilize the premises to their advantage. A private lounge that includes a partial kitchen, TV, DVD, PS2, and wireless Internet access is available, while the complex’s lounge has a full size Donkey Kong and Galaga arcade machines.
The studio itself is a truly professional hybrid production facility. To offer the best of both worlds, Pigpen is stocked with racks full of the most sought after analog gear and the newest in digital recording with Digidesign's Pro Tools HD Accel 7.4. The centerpiece is a custom built analog summing mixer from Shadow Hills that offers the sound of 3 different analog consoles with the flick of a switch!
The B Room is a Pro Tools facility ideal for hip-hop sessions, acoustic acts and any project where the large studio of our A Room isn't necessary. It is available at a significantly affordable hourly and day rate. Recording engineers Patrick Ferguson and Ben Leathers head up the B Room.
Pigpen periodically releases compilation cd's of artists that have worked at Pigpen. Volume 3 was released in September 2007. The artists included are Martians See Red, Bad Kat, Christopher Henderson, Jason Beckham, Another Fiasco, Crane, Seven Envy, Blue Flashing Light, Duramater, Mike Sparrow, Gonzalez, Another Broken Vehicle, and October Frequency. Copies of the CD are free upon request.
